For those of you who prefer to travel by bus in a group, we now have that option available. Because this is a remote area, and it is difficult to access it by plane, S & S Tours is offering  9-day and new 10-day monthly Copper Canyon group bus tour between Phoenix, AZ and Mexico’s Copper Canyon for a package rate starting at $1395.  Stay in the best hotels available. Travel Agents welcomed.

Five hundred miles south of the Arizona border lies one of the natural wonders of the world—Mexico’s Copper Canyon.  It is Copper Canyon has a new adventure park which sports the second longest zip line course in the world and the third longest  cable car ride  in the world (6 km) and the longest in Mexico. For those who like speed and adventure, one can fly across the canyon system on a seven jump, eleven platform zip line course which extends over 4 miles through the canyon. “ Flying” at over 2300 ft. above the canyon floor and  walking across the two suspension bridges allows a dramatic view of the canyon floor which you do not experience from hiking or even from a helicopter. The zip liners will return at the end of their course on the cable car. In addition, there is the “Via Ferrata”, an obstacle course with rappelling, rock climbing and horizontal traverses that is an amazing test of outdoor skill, utilizing the latest in safety equipment.bigger, deeper, greener and wider than  the Arizona Grand Canyon.
Imagine yourself in Copper Canyon on the train winding its way from the Pacific Ocean into the heart of the majestic, rugged western Sierra Madre Mountain Range to 8000 feet elevation, passing  through 87 tunnels and over 39 bridges.  At one point the train does a 180 degree turn inside the mountain. Built over a period of 90 years, this world-famous railroad has been called by The Reader’s Digest  “the most dramatic train ride in the Western Hemisphere.” ( May, 1974).  Meet the shy Tarahumara Indians who have made the Copper Canyon country their home for four centuries, and live much as their ancestors did in cave homes and cliff overhangs.  These proud people have retained their unique culture far better than most other native Americans.

This fascinating tour requires a minimum of 20 travelers to make it a “go”.  It is a 50 passenger bus/group tour.  It is suitable for those in good health who are prepared to walk on rocky paths at high altitude (optional walks at 7000 feet elevation and who have a spirit of adventure to enjoy off-the-beaten-track places.  There are four bus ride days to and from the Canyon.  (If you have a challenge with motion sickness, please bring medication for it as we have seat rotation on the bus.)  As long as you are prepared for this you will experience a wonderful time!
