«We just returned from our trip to Copper Canyon.  It was wonderful …We felt safe at every moment in every city, and all the Mexican people we met along the way were very kind and hospitable.  I hope more travelers learn about this beautiful place and decide to go soon. » Jan. 2011, KM, Chicago.

Dear Valued Client Friends:

Zip Lining in Copper Canyon.  Last month we announced a new cable car ride in Copper Canyon (8940 feet long) near Hotel Mirador now operating!  There  is also a seven-stage zipline (1465 feet above the canyon floor) and repelling adventures offered.

2012 Escorted Group Adventure Tours:

Along with our normal adventure tours all over Mexicoin 2012, we offer two rotation tours (offered every 2-3 years) in South America next year.  Please give us your feedback for the next new South American destination—is Chile or Argentina your preference?

Machu Picchu and Peru :  April 19-30, 2012.  We have people already registered in this wonderful adventure. Machu Picchu is celebrating its 100 birthday July 24, 2011. In July 1911, Hiram Bingham, a Yale lecturer, traveled through the region of the Sacred Valley of Peru and with help from local residents, foundMachu Picchu.   This archeological site is one of the”new 7 wonders of the world.”

Natural History in Galapagos Islands:  May 1-8, 2012.  Galapagos delivers nature with a capital “N”. We have sold 5 of the 8 cabins available on our catamaran already.  Sign up soon if you are interested in this destination!

Travel Tips

A.     There are six phone numbers to carry on paper when traveling:

l. Airline toll-free reservation number (I have mine in my cell phone too)

2. Direct number of person who handles your company’s travel

3.  Help line of your credit card issuer

4. Toll-free number of your connecting airline

5. Number of the taxi service that will meet you at the airport

6. The phone numbers of the 3 national credit reporting organizations to be able to place a fraud alert:

Equifax:  1 800 525 6285

Experian: 1 888 397 3742

Trans Union: 1800 680 7289

B. Do not give credit card info over the phone to the front desk of  a hotel

An identity thief will call a hotel and ask for a guest with a common name.  He asks to be connected     to the guest’s room and pretends to be calling from the front desk.  He says there is a problem with the card and asks the guest to verify the account number, expiration date and security code.  Instead, have the caller read back the credit card number and you can verify it if they actually have it in their possession.

“Travel with Sue Stilwell is exceptional.  Of all foreign trips I have made, Sue has absolutely the best local knowledge of any tour leader/operator I have met.  She knows and loves the people, culture, language, business, history, and politics.  (A.R., AZ, a Copper Canyon traveler this month)

Dear Valued Client Friends:

My granddaughter and I were thrilled to fly around Copper Canyon on the zipline last July.  I have since gone again, and would go again.  It is a better closeup view of the canyon floor than all my hiking and riding in helicopters in the canyon all these many years!

New destination : Chile 2013 early March.  Due to my valued clients’ requests, we are planning this new learning adventure destination.  Mark it on your calendar !   The Wine Country, the Atacama Desert and Torres del Paine are, of course, all included.  An optional tour to Easter Island will be available.

New websites:  We have re-created our websites. Please go on them and give us your feedback.
